Arizona Management System
Governor Doug Ducey’s vision is for Arizona to be the number one state to live, work, play, recreate, retire, visit, do business, and get an education. To achieve this vision, Arizona government is changing how it thinks and does business.

For the first time in its history, Arizona government is operating as one cohesive enterprise within a professional, results driven management system. It’s a system that focuses on delivering customer value and vital mission outcomes for our citizens.

With the Arizona Management System, every state employee at every level reflects daily on how they perform while always seeking a better way. Employees are learning about tools for data-driven decision-making and disciplined problem solving. And by using these tools they enjoy greater creativity and control in their jobs all while expanding their capacity to do more good for the citizens we serve.

Because every Arizona agency has a vital mission that gives purpose to everything they do, we’re keeping score like never before. Mission measures achieved, as reflected in agency scorecards, are now the benchmark by which we monitor progress.

Employee performance and day-to-day work contributes directly to what their agencies track on the scorecards. Through the cascading of the scorecards, employees can see the connection between their own performance the agency’s overall progress and the Governor’s most important goals.

To be successful, every employee must understand that collectively and individually, our job is to do more good for Arizona. To do this we all must understand customer needs, identify problems, improve processes, and measure results.

The mission of Arizona government expands with each passing year. Arizonans expect their government to operate at the speed of business to deliver value and meaningful return on taxpayer investment. This burning platform gives urgency, direction, and purpose to all the Arizona state agencies do. It is the reason why we must change for the better. The Arizona Management System will help us do just that.
